Filmmaker Ken Burns' latest documentary, 'The Roosevelts: An Intimate History' takes a look at the family's story from Theodore's birth in 1858 to the death of Eleanor in 1962. Burns, speaking with TheStreetTV, said, 'They were at the forefront of the debates that still rage today on what the role of government is.' Burns said at their core, all three had a philosophy that 'we all do well, when we all do well' and they understood that by trying to level the playing field all Americans would benefit. The cast includes Meryl Streep who portrays Eleanor Roosevelt, Paul Giamatti who is the voice of Theodore Roosevelt and Edward Herrmann who is the voice of FDR. According to PBS, it is the first time that one film tells the story of all three in a single narrative. The series will air on PBS from September 14th to the 20th.
