Judith Miller Says Times Readers Not Getting Facts, Slams Sulzberger
The management of the New York Times led by Chairman Arthur 'Pinch' Sulzberger is letting its editorial opinions bleed onto the front page more than ever, said Judith Miller, author of 'The Story' and former Times reporter. Miller added that Sulzberger controls everything that goes into the paper and his opinion can be clearly seen in the paper's news coverage. She said Sulzberger does not defend his journalists and the paper's coverage became more biased once conservative writer Bill Safire left the newsroom. Miller, now a Fox News contributor, said the Wall Street Journal has grown into a threat to the New York Times now that Rupert Murdoch has pushed for more general coverage. Finally, Miller said the threat from Middle East terrorists remains high even though President Obama wants to withdraw from the region and the American public has grown more withdrawn.
