The Global Economy is Healthy:
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon says the global economy continues to do well and the U.S. economy is healthy. He adds that consumer banking, loans and deposits are all growing. Chase reported revenue of $26.2 billion for the quarter and earnings of $1.76 a share, both higher than expected.
President Trump Pushes Congress on Tax Reform:
President Donald Trump is making a big push to Congress to pass tax reform. He told attendees at a speech last night in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania that taxes need to be cut to bring companies to the United States and grow jobs. House Speaker Paul Ryan will speak to the Heritage Foundation today and is also expected to make the case for reform.
California's Wildfire:
The death toll continues to climb in California's wine country. 23 people have now died and 3500 structures have been destroyed by the fast moving wildfires.
