John Carter Analysis: Expect Volatility in September and October
Major moves in the asset classes is the tale of the tape.
Major moves in the asset classes is the tale of the tape. The US Dollar, in particular, is wreaking havoc in other areas of the market, most notably oil. The Japanese yen has fallen off a cliff, and in the past, as the yen moves lower, equities explode higher. Looking at the SPY, even though trading has been fairly quiet, Carter believes we are fairly extended a bit. Another thing to watch is bonds and the action in global asset classes and uncorrelated moves. Long story short, Carter thinks September and October will be volatile, which is good for traders. Finally he reviews existing positions and other stocks to watch, including KO, CHRW, BIDU, GLD and NDX, as well as a fresh setup in CMG.
