Jobless Claims, Earnings: What to Watch on Wall Street Jan. 8

We're expecting jobless claims and earnings from Constellation Brands and The Container Store, along with Treasury sales on Thursday, January 8. At 8:30am eastern, a key jobless claims report will run giving the market a sense of year-end layoffs. Then at 11am, we'll also see results from Treasury bill sales, which could reflect the ongoing volatility the market is experiencing. Plus, at noon, Boston Federal Reserve President Eric Rosengren will deliver a speech. And closing out a busy trading day, after the close we'll still have more earnings from Ruby Tuesday's and others.
