Jim Cramer strongly believes the Federal Reserve needs to raise interest rates at least four times to get ahead of what he sees as an upcoming economic expansion. Cramer says, "I think that when you see the hiring that we are getting, that even though the hiring is not producing any consumer spending other than on the Apple iPhone 7, what you realize is that we need these rate hikes and that we need them quickly." Cramer says the U.S. really needs at least three rate hikes this year, if not four. "I really want the Fed to get ahead of what i think is going to be an economic expansion." However, most market watchers say they don't see any rate hikes on the horizon as the Fed waits to see the impact of the Trump administration policies.
