He explains that every single retailer that is in the mid-price to lower end has done phenomenal. Aeropostal, Gap, L Brands and Urban Outfitters posted phenomenal numbers that you wouldn't get unless the consumer was much stronger than we thought so let's forget about Black Friday from now on, he says. Urban Outfitters and Aeropostale both reported better-than-expected holiday sales. Gap raised its profit forecast for fiscal year 2014 while L Brands raised its earnings outlook for the holiday quarter.
