Jim Cramer: What PVH's Earnings Tell Investors About the Retail Sector
Jim Cramer weighed in on PVH and how the company stacks up in the retail space.
PVH is Real Money's Stock of the Day.
"PVH is a clarion call because PVH
(PVH) was so downbeat and you're talking about Calvin Klein, okay, which had really bad numbers. Really bad. And Tommy Hilfiger, sometimes you wonder, geez, is the next thing that's going to happen if the President keeps picking fights: are people going to go against Tommy Hilfiger, which is kind of like red, white and blue? I think that the president's picking fights with everybody, which is a little depressing, but I recognized that Manny [Chirico, CEO of PVH] is just the bellwether," said Cramer.
"Dollar Tree (DLTR) and Dollar General (DG) are also important because it shows you that the consumers pulling back, that's where you shop. I think the Dollar Tree represents a great bargain," he continued.
