We’re awaiting more news on China from President Trump.
The market is awaiting a press conference from President Donald Trump on China. The press conference could lead to further friction between Washington and Beijing.
Trump said he would make an announcement Friday “with respect to China,” following a move from Chinese lawmakers to approve a national security law that could limit freedoms in Hong Kong.
The president also has sharply criticized China's response to the coronavirus outbreak.
On Thursday, Jim Cramer explained that the coronavirus pandemic will have lasting effects on the economy but could also be a catalyst towards reducing the dependence on China by the U.S. in the twenty-first century. Trump made it a priority to reduce the dependency on China when the trade war began last year.
He discussed how a crackdown on Beijing because of China’s law on Hong Kong could impact the global markets.
But, as we await the press conference with President Trump, what does it mean for American investors?
"You're going to see...Broadcom go down...[That's an opportunity]," said Jim Cramer.
