The Secret Life of Pets raked in more than $100 million in its opening weekend and Jim Cramer says it hits on an investing theme he's following. Cramer says the 'humanization' of pets is gaining more traction as people do more to pamper their four-legged friends. The film explores what dogs, cats and other pets do while their owners are away from home. Pets cost $75 million to produce, that's about half of what studios typically spend on production for an animated film. The film launched on 4,370 movie screens across the country.
At the time of publication, Jim Cramer's charitable trust Action Alerts PLUS held no positions in stocks mentioned.
