Jim Cramer on DuPont CEO's Retirement Announcement

DuPont (DD) CEO and Chairman Ellen Kullman has announced that she will retire from the chemical company, just months after winning a proxy fight against activist investor Nelson Peltz’s Trian Fund Management. 'This is a tough one,' said TheStreet’s Jim Cramer. 'I had hoped she could break bread with Nelson Peltz.' Trian is currently the fifth largest shareholder in DuPont, owning around 24.5 million shares. Kullman narrowly managed to fend off Peltz’s demands for board seats back in May but it was a heated run in. 'Let’s say she won the battle, but Ellen Kellman lost the war to Nelson Peltz,' said Cramer. Kullman has held the role of CEO since 2009 but today reported another disappointing quarter, as the company struggled with currency headwinds and lowered its 2015 guidance to $2.75, down from $3.10. 'Peltz will get his way, Peltz is really smart,' said Cramer.
