Jim Cramer Looks Beyond Dow 20,000
Jim Cramer says the Dow hitting 20,000 is different from previous big runs because the milestone comes during earnings season and allows traders to reevaluate.
Just after the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit 20,000, TheStreet's Jim Cramer said this latest run is different from previous big runs because it comes during earnings season. This allows investors to evaluate and reevaluate companies, he said.
Cramer noted that leading up to the milestone, the quarter was mostly good -- with notable exceptions like Verizon (VZ) - Get Report , General Electric (GE) - Get Report and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) - Get Report .
Cramer went on to predict the 20,000 milestone will not drive a large number of new retail investors into the market, but it may drive more interest in stocks.
With a new president, Cramer thinks investors may be more inclined to take money out of the market, rather than put more in.
