Jim Cramer Is Watching Mondelez Earnings on Wednesday
TheStreet’s Action Alerts PLUS Portfolio Manager Jim Cramer is keeping an eye on quarterly results from Mondelez International (MDLZ), which are set to be released on Wednesday before the markets open. Analysts expect the maker of well-known Nabisco and Trident products, based in Illinois, to post fourth quarter earnings of $0.48 a share on sales of almost $7.3 billion. During the same quarter a year ago, the company posted net income of $0.47 a share with revenue of $8.8 billion. Mondelez is a holding of Cramer’s charitable trust Action Alerts PLUS. ‘I know that the currency is going to hurt Mondelez,’ Cramer said, referring to the strength of the U.S. dollar. The U.S. Dollar Currency Index rose 4.6 percent over the past 12 months. Quantitative easing stimulus from the European Central Bank and dovishness from the Bank of Japan has contributed to the dollar’s rise against other major currencies.
