Jerry Rice: Retirement Savers Need More 'Defense' in Portfolios

Investors saving for retirement need an ‘offensive and defensive’ approach, plus a team-focused mentality when managing their financial assets, said Jerry Rice, NFL Hall of Famer and MetLife Spokesman. People may believe they are completely prepared for retirement, but the recent MetLife Financial Planning Perspectives Poll shows their financial plans may still be at risk. The majority of those polled are taking the ‘offense-only’ approach to retirement planning, neglecting to add more defensive asset classes. Meanwhile, nearly three in four of those surveyed say they believe they are on the right track in for retirement.
