Amazon  (AMZN) - Get Inc. Report CEO Jeff Bezos announced his company is donating one million Australian dollars (the equivalent of $690,000) to help fight the disastrous Australian wildfires.

Bezos made the announcement on Instagram Saturday night.

“Our hearts go out to all Australians as they cope with these devastating bushfires,” he wrote. “Amazon is donating 1 million AU dollars in needed provisions and services.”

The deadly bushfires have claimed over 25 million acres of Australian land and killed nearly one billion animals. Twenty-eight people have died nationwide, with thousands of homes destroyed.

Many on Twitter say Bezos isn’t doing enough to fight the fires, pointing out that the tech entrepreneur has a net worth of $116.7 billion. Other celebrities with much smaller net worths have donated more or equal in the past few weeks. Kylie Jenner donated $1 million, and actor Chris Hemsworth has matched Amazon’s donation.

Australia experiences a fire season each year, with hot and dry weather during the summer fueling the flames. But this year, the blaze is even more severe than usual, with strong winds causing the fires to spread at unprecedented rates.
