Japanese Shares Soar the Most in Seven Years, Apple Launch Event

Japan stocks lead world markets higher Wednesday with 7.7% gain, the biggest one day percentage gain since 2008. Asian stocks, overall, gained on moves by the Chinese government to cut taxes on corporate dividends. Apple (AAPL) is expected to unveil a new iphone today at an event in San Francisco. It's being billed as a 'Hey Siri' event due to reports by Apple Insider and others that the new iphone model will boast an always-on 'Hey Siri' voice activation, meaning users can invoke the virtual assistant even when the device is unplugged. Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) is going on a hiring blitz today. It will interview thousands of potential candidates at restaurants today with the goal of hiring 4000. Chipotle wants to open stores and the new employees will help it achieve those goals. Mastercard (MA) will meet with investors today. The 'JOLTS' Job survey is also released.
