Late Wednesday, the world watched as Zion Williamson, a Duke player, fell after his Nike PG 2.5's ripped.
Williamson was escorted off of the court limping. Mike Krzyzewski, Duke's coach, said that Williamson suffered from a "mild knee sprain."
"We are obviously concerned and want to wish Zion a speedy recovery," Real Money's Stock of the Day, Nike (NKE) said in a statement. "The quality and performance of our products are of utmost importance. While this is an isolated occurrence, we are working to identify the issue."
Ronn Torossian, CEO of 5W Public Relations, talked to TheStreet about Nike's response and whether or not the incident will impact public perception of the company in the long-term.
Torossian said that he believes that this will be a "blip on the screen" for Nike in the long run.
