Is a Battle Brewing Between Donald Trump and Regulatory Agencies?
Donald Trump may want to change regulations like Dodd-Frank, but some regulators might be ready to do battle.
Several heads of top financial regulator agencies say they plan to complete their terms, potentially setting up a battle with President-elect Trump, who has pledged to dismantle regulation like Dodd-Frank. The Deal's Ron Orol reports that two Obama Administration agency heads, the chief of the FDIC and the head of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, plan to serve out their terms. Orol says Trump could make it uncomfortable for them if they stay. The two regulators oversee significant aspects of Dodd-Frank rules.
