Americans have definitively developed the taste for Irish whiskey and not just on St. Patrick's Day. In 2013, 2.5 million cases were sold, up 17.5% from 2012. Paul Di Vito, VP of Irish And North American Whiskey at Pernod Ricard, says the category is still in its infancy. And while Irish whiskey has established strongholds in markets like New York and San Francisco, other U.S. cities remain relatively unpenetrated, creating opportunities for market leader Jameson, as well as smaller craft brands.
