Which Sporting Events Have Been Canceled Because of the Coronavirus Outbreak?

The coronavirus is affecting everything from air travel to sporting events. In an attempt to halt the spread of the deadly virus, international sporting events are being canceled.

The World Athletics Indoor Championships, scheduled for Nanjing from March 13-15, were postponed until next year.

Four Series A soccer games scheduled to take place on Feb. 23 in northern Italy were canceled. 

The Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai set for April 19, has been postponed by the governing body FIA and Formula One.

The LPGA golf tour canceled the March 5-8 Blue Bay tournament to be held on Hainan. 

Officials have not said how the Olympic games will be handled in July 2020 if the outbreak is still active.

Stocks sank as much as 1000 points as investors grow worried the global spread of the coronavirus, which now has been found in more than two dozen countries, will impact economies outside of China.

As of February 24, there have been 2,592 deaths and 77,150 confirmed cases of coronavirus in China.
