Interest Rate Hike Decision: One of the Most Anticipated Weeks in 2015

The week of September 14 could possibly be one of the most anticipated in 2015 for investors. Most importantly we await the FOMC's decision on Thursday regarding an interest rate hike. In addition, quadruple witching options expiration is on Friday, which will add more complexity and volatility into the market. While expiration is on Friday, most of the options action will take place on Wednesday and Thursday as large institutions roll positions to longer-dated expirations, coincidentally on the same days the FOMC meeting and rate decision are taking place. Key items to watch on the economic front include retail sales and housing and manufacturing data. The earnings calendar remains light with FedEx (FDX), Oracle (ORCL) and RiteAid (RAD) front and center.
