President-elect Donald Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff Katie Walsh graduated from college in 2007 and will be one of the most senior women in the White House. Throughout the 2016 election, Walsh worked as the chief of staff of the Republican National Committee, serving as Reince Preibus' (who is Trump's incoming chief of staff) second-in-command. Walsh arrived to D.C. in 2000 as a high school intern. At the time, she worked on the re-election campaign of Sen. John Ashcroft, Republican from Missouri. Walsh was then hired as the finance director for the long-shot campaign of actor and Tennessee senator Fred Thompson in 2007. Once Thompson dropped out of the race, Walsh became regional finance director for John McCain's presidential bid. She graduated from George Washington University in 2007 with degrees in finance and marketing.
