INC Research Delivers Phase I to IV Clinical Programs to the Biopharma Industry

INC Research is in a unique area of the biopharmaceutical industry. CEO Jamie Macdonald tells TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino the company is a Contract Research Organization (CRO), essentially helping biopharma clients through clinical trials to hopefully prove they are safe and efficacious for marketing and commercialization globally. One of the reasons even the largest biopharmas don’t do this in-house is because of the geographical and operational scale required to run clinical trials. Macdonald says INC Research is accessing the capital markets as a Nasdaq-listed company in an effort to continue to restructure its balance sheet, bring net debt down, while generating cash and earnings. Excess cash could go to tuck-in acquisitions, which is an important part of the growth strategy as is in-house investment.
