Hulu May Have The Handmaid's Tale, But Netflix Still Has Our Hearts
In the battle for your streaming queue, Netflix (NFLX) - Get Report may be leading the pack when it comes to customer loyalty. In a study compiled by Second Measure, data showed that 80 percent of Netflix subscribers only pay to stream from Netflix.
In comparison, only 36.8 percent of Hulu customers solely subscribe to its service and 60 percent of Hulu numbers also pay for Netflix.
Netflix recently reported that it expects its continued production of original content to cost $8 billion in 2018. Will such a big investment help it stay ahead of Hulu as the competing service also pumps out critically acclaimed content such as The Handmaids' Tale, which swept the 2017 Emmy's?
