Apple is getting some competition from Huawei. The Chinese telecommunications company released its first high-end smartphone in the U.S. on Friday.
Huawei, the No. 3 smartphone maker in the world, is looking to gain some market share from Samsung and Apple. The phone is called the Mate 9 and is preinstalled with Amazon's (AMZN) - Get Report Alexa voice assistant software, the first smartphone with this technology.
Huawei showcased the phone at the Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday. The smartphone is priced at $599.99 and has a 5.9-inch display, larger than both the iPhone 7 and the Galaxy S7.
