How Sparkling Ice Is Competing Against Giants Like Coke and Pepsi

It's all about gaining grocery store shelf space for upstart brands like Sparkling Ice, which is made by Talking Rain Beverage. Even as soda sales are declining, Sparkling Ice still has to compete for shelf space with non-cola beverages distributed by big companies like Coke (KO) - Get Report and Pepsi (PEP) - Get Report . But Talking Rain is making inroads. Kevin Klock, CEO of Talking Rain, tells TheStreet that the company should reach $1 billion in sales by 2018 as it continues to expand in the U.S. and abroad. One of Sparkling Ice's 'brand ambassadors' is basketball star Kevin Durant. While Talking Rain is privately held, Klock said he can't rule out considering any acquisition offers.
