How Nelson Peltz Wins Even If He Doesn't Score a Procter & Gamble Board Seat
The battle between Trian's Nelson Peltz and Procter & Gamble comes to a climax on October 10 - the date of the critical shareholder vote.
Even if billionaire activist investor Nelson Peltz doesn't score a Procter & Gamble (PG) - Get Report board seat, his activist efforts won't go entirely to waste.
Peltz's criticisms of the company have sent a strong message to CEO David Taylor about the need to acquire lesser known brands that boast millennials as customers.
That's the assessment from The Deal's Ron Orol.
According to Orol, Taylor won't resign if Peltz wins a board seat.
The shareholder vote takes place on October 10.
Procter & Gamble shares are up almost 10% since the start of the year, compared to the S&P 500's 12% rise during the same period.
