House Republicans scrapped plans to close the Office of Congressional Ethics, a watchdog that monitors misconduct among members of Congress, after a tweet from President-elect Donald Trump. "With all Congress has to work on, do they really have to make the weakening of the Independent Ethics Watchdog, as unfair as it...maybe, their number one act and priority? Focus on tax reform, health care and so many other things of far greater importance. #DTS," Trump wrote in a series of tweets. DTS refers to Trump's mantra of "drain the swamp."
