Honda Dumps Airbag Supplier Takata Amid Millions in Fines

Honda (HMC) is dumping longtime supplier Takata over its deadly airbags. None of Honda's new car models under development will use the company's airbag inflators. Also the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is issuing a $70 million fine against Takata, which could rise to $130 million if the company doesn't live up to the terms of the deal. 8 deaths have been linked to the airbags, which can rupture and send shards of metal flying. Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk says the company is still on track. Investors are sending the shares higher in the pre-market. Musk says Tesla is still on track to produce more than 50,000 cars this year. There's no deal for investors of Groupon (GRPN). It posted mixed results, a wide miss on guidance and the daily deals site named a new CEO. Co-founder Eric Lefkofsky resigned as CEO to become board chairman. Rich Williams, the company's new CEO, says it will spend more on marketing this year.
