Home Price Index, Consumer Confidence: What to Watch on Wall Street Dec. 30

No earnings on tap but there are some economic reports out Tuesday, December 30, 2014 including the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index out at 9 am, eastern. Consumer confidence will follow at 10 am, eastern. This is a light trading week but as PNC's (PNC) Chief Investment Strategist says 'these days may serve as an omen for the year ahead.' Bill Stone continued to say 'in the trading days between Christmas and New Year's, the S&P 500 generally posts gains, netting abnormally high returns in a phenomenon known as the 'Santa Claus rally.' The average cumulative return is 1.6%.
