Facebook (FB) has increasingly become the bane of the FANG stocks amid a September data breach, allegations of inflated video metrics and a push to replace CEO Mark Zuckerberg as chairman.

But yesterday's rally has investors wondering if Facebook is ready to tell a different story.

Once upon a time, Facebook had a lot more to like

  • February 2004: "thefacebook" began in at Harvard.
  • September 2004: Facebook launches its now infamous wall.
  • May 2005: Facebook spreads to 800 college campuses and high school networks.
  • May 2012: Facebook IPOs with a $102.4 billion market value.

Will Facebook's future have more to like? Only time and an earnings report or two can tell.
