Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton's recent comments about her positions on approving the Keystone XL Pipeline and lifting the ban on U.S. oil exports are likely putting her in the good graces of the energy industry. According to the American Petroleum Institute's CEO Jack Gerard, 'Secretary Clinton has said in the past she’d be inclined to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, she made a comment the other day suggesting she would support lifting the ban on crude exports. If there’s anyone that understands the need of lifting the export ban, it’s Hillary Clinton. She knows that those European nations are clamoring to have our energy.' While the API says it is non-partisan, Clinton's remarks have been the most direct until this point in the 2016 campaign. Separately, Gerard said he sees growing support in Congress for lifting the ban on U.S. crude exports. TheStreet's Rhonda Schaffler has details from the IHS CERA conference in Houston.
