'They're relatively late to the online game,' said Michael Ingram, a market analyst with BGC Partners, based in London. Walmart's digital sales grew 11.8 percent during the quarter, down from 16 percent in the same quarter a year ago. Ingram said Walmart hopes its pending acquisition of Jet.com boosts online sales and puts the company in a better position to compete with Amazon.
