Shares of Verizon Communications (VZ) - Get Report were lower Thursday after posting mixed quarterly results. Earnings of $1.01 a share beat analysts' estimates for earnings of $0.99. But, revenue of $30.9 billion was below forecasts. For 2016, Verizon expects earnings to be comparable to 2015. CEO Lowell McAdam said in a statement that Verizon has maintained the financial flexibility to invest in its industry-leading networks to better serve customers, added scale to bring innovation to the mobile media and Internet of Things markets, and increased dividends for the 10th consecutive year.
