Shares of Red Hat (RHT) - Get Report jumped Thursday after posting better-than-expected second quarter results late Wednesday. The open-source software provider reported earnings of $0.55 a share on revenue of $600 million, both of which topped analysts' forecasts. The company also updated its outlook for the rest of the year. Red Hat now expects full-year earnings in range of $2.23 and $2.25 a share, which is higher than its previous outlook.
