Here's Why Shares of Priceline Are Higher in Tuesday's Session
Priceline shares rose after the company topped expectations.
Priceline (PCLN) shares gained Tuesday following the release of the travel booking company's third quarter financial results. The company reported a 19% increase in quarterly revenue to $3.69 billion and earnings of $31.18 a share. Analysts on average expect the company to report revenue of $3.62 billion on earnings of $29.91 a share. Separetely, the company also said that its bottom line was negatively affected by a $941 million charge related to a slower expansion strategy at its restaurant booking site, OpenTable.
