Here's Why 'Natural Wine' is The Next Big Thing in The Wine World
Natural wine is continuing to gain in popularity among wine connoisseurs and it may soon be coming to a wine shop near you. The raw, or natural, wine movement which started in France is spreading all over Europe, the U.S. and most recently Australia. Critical Mass Selections Owner Ross Bingham says his wine import business has seen a surge of interest, not just from New York and Los Angeles, but also from cities like Nashville and New Orleans. But, unlike other foods which sometimes carry a certified organic label, finding wine that is 'natural' can be a challenge. Bingham's recommendation: find a sommelier at your favorite restaurant or a connoisseur at your local wine shop to steer you in the direction of raw wines. Apart from a better taste, the wines may also give you less of hangover if you over-indulge. The first Raw Wine Fair in the U.S. will take place on November 6-7 in New York. TheStreet's Ruben Ramirez has details from Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
