Here's Why Activist Hedge Funds Almost Never Nominate Women
Data complied by BoardEx shows that women are rarely nominated by activists funds for board positions.
Women are rarely nominated by activist hedge funds looking to replace board seats, according to Ron Orol, senior editor with The Deal. Data compiled by BoardEx found that out of 408 director candidates nominated by the top ten activist funds over the last five years, only 20 of them were women. "It's pretty bad and it reflects the broader world where there just aren't a lot of women director candidates overall," said Orol. Funds say they have a difficult time finding women, but Orol says there's more they can do to change the picture.
