Here’s What to Expect From Thursday’s Bank of England Meeting

The Bank of England is set to announce an interest rate cut on Thursday, following its August policy meeting, according to one expert. 'We think there is going to be a rate cut and also likely some additional stimulus,' said Maximilian Kunkel, cross-asset strategist at UBS Wealth Management, based in Zurich. 'We're expecting a 25 basis point cut.' This is the central bank's second meeting since the June 23 Brexit vote. While many question the efficacy of a 25 basis point cut, Kunkel said it's a symbolically significant move to assure investors that the UK is committed to stimulating the economy. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
