Here’s the Investing Playbook You Need for the Second Half of 2016
Investors are hoping the second half of 2016 looks nothing like the first. Wells Fargo (WFC) - Get Report Investment Institute is out with forecasts for the remainder of 2016 and there's one key takeaway: expect more uncertainty. 'The markets are still the most worried about the Federal Reserve,' said Paul Christopher, head global strategist at Wells Fargo Investment Institute. 'As long as the Fed is worried about the rest of the world, the markets will feel risk averse, but if the Fed feels more comfortable with the global and U.S. outlook and starts raising interest rates, then the market is going to worry that the Fed is moving too quickly.' He said the trajectory of rate hikes is going to be 'as flat as you could possibly imagine' with one rate hike likely coming in 2016 and one in 2017.
