There's too much hype surrounding Dow 20,000, according to Craig Erlam, a senior market analyst at Oanda, based in London. Erlam said the threshold is merely psychological.
In Erlam's view, the market's move higher is largely attributed to Donald Trump's presidential victory in November, as investors remained hopeful of tax cuts and infrastructure spending in the coming years. On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was just 13 points away from 20,000.
The Dow, back in February, hit a low for the year of 15,660. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
