Here Is One Investment You Need to Boost Your Portfolio's Returns
Far too many investors aren't focused on trading futures.
The futures market is open almost 24 hours a day. "This is a fabulous tool people can use when they want to express bullish or bearish opinions," said Jon Najarian, co-founder of Najarian Family Office and a commentator on CNBC.
Najarian pointed to recent examples such as Donald Trump's presidential election and the aftermath of the 2016 Brexit vote as times when investors profited from trading futures contracts.
He said most investors will trade what they're comfortable with such as Dow futures, S&P 500 futures or Nasdaq futures. That's not a bad strategy, Najarian said, if you're new to futures trading. "[Trading the broader market futures isn't] going to blow you up if you're wrong," he said. "You'll make a little money if you're right."
