Here Is How Walmart and Target Are Trying to Compete With Amazon
Amazon has won online retail, but there's a battle brewing for second place, according to one expert.
Amazon (AMZN) - Get Report has won online retail, but there's a battle brewing for second place, according to one expert. "They key in our view is to be the second website that people might go to after the Amazon site," said Charlie O'Shea, lead retail analyst at Moody's, adding that Walmart's (WMT) - Get Report recent acquisition of Jet.com bolsters its web presence. He said Target (TGT) - Get Report has been suffering from its 2013 credit card breach and he doesn't think Target wants to narrow the gap it has with Walmart. "I think Target wants to do what Target has done well in the past and that is to provide a distinct, differentiated shopping experience for its consumers." TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
