"The uncertainties with a Trump presidency could cause undue volatility in the marketplace which would simply exacerbate that need for the Fed to remain accommodative going forward," said Lindsey Piegza, chief economist at Stifel Fixed Income. Piegza also said the Fed could reactivate the quantitative easing measures used after the financial crisis if stock markets have a difficult time adapting to a Trump presidency. "Their official mandate is stable prices and full employment," she said. "But they also have this third unofficial mandate of stable financial market conditions."
