There's a new idea for how to pay for Donald Trump's proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border: a 2% tax on remittances between the U.S. and Mexico. That's what Congressman Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) is calling for. He says it would raise some $1 billion a year.
"That would be a big deal for Western Union (WU) - Get Report and Moneygram (MGI) - Get Report -- companies that deal with remittances," said TheStreet's politics writer Emily Stewart. Some estimates peg the cost of the wall to as high as $40 billion.
