HBO is Considering Paying 'Bounty Payment' to Hackers Who Stole Game of Thrones Scripts

An executive at HBO is considering paying hackers who stole data from the company, including scripts from Game of Thrones, a $250,000 "bounty payment" in Bitcoin. The payment was suggested in an email which was leaked by the hackers as "a show of good faith," according to Variety. The executive asked the hackers for more time in an attempt to "establish the necessary account and acquire bitcoin" due to the size of the ransom.
Details of the HBO hack emerged last week and a script from the popular show was leaked online. A group claimed responsibility for the hack and said it has stolen 1.5. terabytes of data.
