Halliburton & Baker Hughes Rise Despite Lower Close on Wall Street
U.S. stocks managed to close off their lows Monday but still in the red on worries overseas including the uncertainty in Greece and disappointing trade data from China. The energy sector helped to offset downward pressure. Shares of Halliburton (HAL) and Baker Hughes (BHI) rose with rising oil prices. Crude oil for the March contract settled better than 2% higher on OPEC's projection of better than expected demand this year. Separately, an analyst report found Americans are spending more on gas with the money they’re saving from cheaper fuel. Gold prices finally rose for first time in three session. Hasbro (HAS) was a big gainer in Monday's trading. Shares gained nearly 7% after beating earnings estimates despite missing on the revenue front.
