Google (GOOG) is charging up to launch its low price smart phone offering in 6 African countries. The Internet connected cell phone, named 'Hot 2' will be made by Infinix, which worked with Google on its low cost 'Android One' program that was rolled out in India last year. Google is working to push down the price of the smartphone devices in countries where a large percentage of the population don't have Internet connection. The new Infinix model will be able to run on Android software and will retail for around $87 in Nigerian stores and online in Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco and Ivory Coast. As part of its push to get more of Africa online, Google has also built a fiber optic network for faster internet in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
