Google Misses Q3 Street Estimates on Top and Bottom Lines

Google posted third quarter earnings of $6.35 a share on revenue of $16.52 billion. Wall Street analysts were looking for $6.53 on sales of $16.57 billion. Last year, the online search giant earned $5.37 per share on revenue of $14.9 billion. As for details, the company's cost-per-click decreased approximately 2% over the third quarter of 2013. Meanwhile, aggregate paid clicks increased approximately 17% over the prior year. Traffic acquisition costs rose to $3.35 billion in the quarter compared to $2.97 billion last year.
