Google Cancels Meeting on Diversity Fearing Harassment, Leaks
Google (GOOGL) - Get Report says it canceled a planned meeting on diversity due to employee fears. The meeting was planned in response to an engineer's memo saying the company is sacrificing quality to be diverse. Some employees had worried that information from the meeting would be leaked and they ma be harassed. An Uber investor has sued founder Travis Kalanick for fraud. The suit came from benchmark, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, that is one of Uber's largest shareholders. It says Kalanick secured several board seats with false information about and concealment of other information like pending sexual harassment problems. Benckmark owns 13% of Uber, Kalanick owns 10%. Nordstrom (JWN) - Get Report is a rare bright spot in retail right now. It actually saw sales climb over last year. The retailer said its anniversary sale was a success and its own brands are 3 of the top 5 sellers.
